Artists statement:

I took these flowers like they were portraits. I wanted to capture their beauty and intricacies of their structure. Digitally captured and manipulated in Photoshop.

This set of images are from all over. I am drawn to flowers, in my own garden or elsewhere. Coming from a long line of gardeners I find that I enjoy the process of growing things as well as taking their photos. Some of the tulips are from Washington state tulip fields. I like to make the flower like a head shot. to capture the flower and focus on it like I would a person.
